► The whole idea of creating a self-designed wristwatch begins with a pocket watch purchased in the early years of the 1900s, which from then traveled in the founder’s family from generation to generation in a straight descending line and which later came to land, already as young, in the founder’s possession. Alread in that young age, a strong interest and a great fascination for clockwork began.

After several years and several forfeited various wristwatches, the idea was born to create a stylish wristwatch as a whole, with also a clean dial without all superfluous details and instead focus on the “right” details in the design. The idea that was born was to scale down and emphasize what, after years of experience, proven to be the essential and thus create a design based on what a watch is simply meant to be – to be precisely just a watch. The starting point and basic idea in the design was to create a wristwatch with a stylish dial in the form of only hour hand, minute hand and second hand and date. Only elements associated with time would be included in the design – Lucas Pretoria was born!
